All the residents enjoyed their Spring Flower crafting projects to decorate their rooms. And our club members planted all the planters on their patios. Another Awesome Job Team!

Our Des Plaines Garden Club’s Garden Therapy members were busy for the Valentine season at…Oakton Arms in Des Plaines, IL on January 28th, 2025

All the residents enjoyed their Heart crafting projects to decorate their rooms.

We were able to give the residents a Valentine's Rose as our club member Alicja Schimka’s husband, Mike, donated long-stem roses in plastic and a bow tied on it, to make our Valentine’s program even more special.

Des Plaines GARDEN CLUB'S GARDEN THERAPY

Thanks to our Des Plaines Garden Club’s Garden Therapy who transformed the patios into vibrant havens, for our Community Des Plaines Lee Manor, Oakton Arms, and the Oakton Pavilion senior homes.

On May 8th, our club members with green thumbs helped the Des Plaines, IL Lee Manor residents created individual personal Memorial Day theme planters and planted their outside patio.

On May 13 2024 they did the same for the Des Plaines, IL Oakton Arms.

Also on May 15th, 2024 for the Des Plaines, IL Oakton Pavilion - providing residents Spring theme, individual pots for the resident’s room and planted their patio outside planters

Our club members who helped bring SPRING to the residents were: Pam Mazzini, Mary Peglow, Nancy Hensley, Sue Linton, and her son Matt, Pat Tell, Beth Magoon, Barb Scotese, Kathy Fanchi (guest), Kathy Ryan, and Madeline McDonald

Our Des Plaines Garden Club’s Garden Therapy group went to the Oakton Pavillion in Des Plaines IL on

Our club members, Susan Boyajian, Pam Mazzini, Pat Tell and Nancy Hensley Olson Magoon, helped some of the residents create a “VALENTINE HEART”.

It started with a wood heart which were decorated with dollies, ribbons, flowers and ornaments. When the hearts were done the residents enjoyed them on their wheelchairs and in their rooms for Valentine’s Day.

Des Plaines Garden Club ~ Garden Therapy

Our Des Plaines Garden Club’s Garden Therapy group went to the Oakton Pavillion in Des Plaines IL on January 31, 2023.

Our club members, Nancy Hensley Olson, Pat Tell, Pam Mazzini, Sue Linton, and Beth Magoon, helped some of the residents

create a hanging “VALENTINE HEART”

The hearts had cute net fabric on a wire frame which were decorated with flowers and ornaments.

When the hearts were done the residents enjoyed them in their rooms for Valentine’s Day.

It was a great success to share some LOVE!

It was a great success and provided some holiday fun!

Another Great Job Team!

Our club members, Nancy Hensley Olson, Diana Edwards, Sue Linton, Beth Magoon, Karen Pacey, Pam Mazzini and Pat Tell helped some of the residents create a “CHRISTMAS JAR”

These had cute fabric lids and the jars were filled with pinecones, bells and holiday shinny ball ornaments.

When the jars were done the residents decorated the jars with holiday stickers ribbons and a bow.
